KCC 56 is...

A group of 5th-6th grade students dedicated to gathering family, serving community, and sending one another. Alright, so we just took the church's vision statement and applied it to KCC 56. But it's true! It's what we're all about; we just address it in unique, exciting ways. The students might call it a vibe; we call it KCC 56. It's not quite kids ministry. It's not quite youth ministry. It's a ministry designed to come into the gap and make 56 students feel at home.

KCC 56 Sundays

Hang

Class officially starts at 9:00a on Sundays, but we often don’t get rolling until about 9:05a to allow some time to hang out. Feel free to come early and have a good time. Our 56 space belongs to our 56 students!

Get Active

Before getting too in depth, we like to do an activity together. From making an escape room to playing real life Fruit Ninja to playing Guitar Hero to making lava lamps, we like to have a good time introducing a Bible story!

Dive in

Our 56 students are more than capable of in-depth text study. That’s why we are currently on a two-year teaching cycle about Elijah and Elisha for one year and Mark’s Second Exodus the next. It’s advanced and impactful!

Current Study

Moses’s life was full of messes, but it was also full of miracles! During this four week series, we’ll study the entire life of moses – from his birth until he led Israel through the desert. At every turn, there was a mess and there were miracles. Moses was born into a mess – a decree had been passes stating all Hebrew babies were to be thrown into the Nile River and drowned! God protected Moses, though, and the daughter of the evil Pharaoh who made this law found Moses in the NIle and raised him like a son. It was a miracle! As Moses grew, he no doubt had a hard time balancing his Hebrew roots with his Egyptian upbringing. That brought him to a mess as he murdered an Egyptian slave driver. AFter running for his life, Moses found Yahweh at a burning bush that wasn’t burning… as if that makes any sense! This miracle had God telling him to go back to Egypt to free the Israel people! Moses made excuses, but went anyway. Moses had all kinds of messes back in Egypt. He had a speech impediment, angered Pharaoh, and had a hard time gaining the trust of the Israelites. Still, God used him through that messiness to bring miracle after miracle in the ten plagues and the parting of the Red SEa to free HIs people! But the mess wasn’t over. Israel grew tired and weary. They complained and even wanted to go back to being slaves in Egypt! God protected his people, though, providing food and water miraculously time after time. There will be messes in life. Good thing for us our God shows up in the messes, sometimes even showing his greatest miracles in the midst of them! The KCC 56 Pool Party was a smash! We swam, had snacks for days, played some Spikeball, worshiped, had a devo, and saw one of the absolute coldest bellyflops the world has ever witnessed (shoutout, Jay)! We even got custom KCC 56 Frisbees! WE can’t wait for the next KCC 56 exclusive event!

Our flagship summer program, Way Cool Wednesdays, was straight gas! Toward the end of the summer, plans had to change, but we had a great time and learned all about what it means to be a lighthouse in our communities and how to follow the ultimate Lighthouse - Jesus!

KCC Kids Camp was a whole vibe. We talked about what it means to follow our lighthouse and what it means to be a lighthouse in an absolutely jam-packed week! We did huge sessions, played big games, competed in tournaments, learned new skills, and even heard from a wise squid and frog.
